Join MBU’s Shakespeare and Performance graduate students, for a double feature of theater magic with dynamic educational adaptations of two of Shakespeare's timeless plays, Pericles and Much Ado About Nothing.

Streetlight Shakespeare Ensemble presents William Shakespeare and George Wilkins’s Pericles at 5:30 PM on September 30th and October 1st at MBU at the Wharf in the Studio. Drawing on characters and themes from Shakespeare and Wilkins’s play, this 30-minute adventure introduces Gower, a poet and storyteller, and Marina, a young wanderer looking for a place to belong. Along with a vivid and energetic ensemble, these characters take a young audience on an exciting seafaring voyage full of song and movement, community, comfort in difficult times, and kindness.

Pericles is a Theatre for Young Audiences educational show designed to tour to audiences grades K-5, and is available for booking at mbushakespearemfa@gmail.com.

Following Pericles, Streetlight Shakespeare Ensemble presents William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing at 6:30 PM September 30th and October 1st at MBU at the Wharf, in the Loft. In this hour-long production, class, love, and gender collide in a high-energy comedy of gossip and (mis)communication. While Claudio and Hero learn the hard lessons of young love, enemies Beatrice and Benedick stumble their way toward romance - with a little help from their friends! Featuring music, dance, clowning, and puns, this production will challenge and delight audiences of any age.
