Written in 2025 by Maureen Lennon with music by Tor Maries, this high-energy play with music tells the story of 18th century feminist Mary Wollstonecraft... and introduces to her daughter Mary Shelley, the creator of Frankenstein. We're looking for actors, singers, instrumentalists, and dancers of all identities and presentations to help us tell this monster story!

No advance preparation is required -- at 6:45pm each night, we'll teach a short audition song (sheet music and instrumental accompaniment available here) that everyone can learn together. You're welcome to practice it in advance, but that's not required. If you'd like to sing an alternate pop/rock song, feel free to do so a cappella or with accompniment from your phone. Auditions will include singing, reading from scenes from the play, and a group movement exercise.

Wellness bingo is an engaging, interactive game for students, faculty and staff that promotes healthy habits across physical, mental, and social dimensions. Players complete daily self-care tasks like drinking water or attending a campus workshop to mark off squares.

1. Eligibility

The challenge is open to all currently enrolled Mary Baldwin University students, as well as active MBU faculty and staff members.

2. Challenge Period

The event runs from [8/25/2026] to [9/30/2026] at 8:00 PM.

All wellness activities must be completed within this timeframe to count toward a winning card.

3. How to Play

Pick up a card: MBU Wellness Table event 8/25 (Hunt) 0r 8/27 (MDCHS)

Complete tasks: Complete the wellness activities listed in the grid squares.

Track your progress: Cross off completed squares. To maintain the campus honor system, please briefly write the date or a 1-word detail of completion directly inside the square.

4. Winning Categories & Prize Tiers

Participants can win prizes in one of two categories. Limit one prize entry per participant (you will be entered into the highest tier you achieve).

Tier 1: Row or Column Win

Requirement: Complete any straight 5-square line horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.

Prize: Entry Into raffle for MBU swag or other items (while supplies last).

Tier 2: Grand Prize Full Blackout

Requirement: Complete all 24 squares on the bingo card (excluding the free space).

Prize: Entry into the Grand Prize Raffle

5. How to Submit & Enter the Drawing

All completed cards must be submitted by [End Date 9/30/ 2026] at 8:00 PM using one of the methods below.

Method A: Instagram Stories/Posts (Public Accounts)

1)Take a photo of your completed card.

2)Post it to your Instagram Story or Feed.

3)Tag @MBU_Wellness and use the hashtag #MBUWellnessBingo.

Method B: Instagram DM (Private Accounts)

If your account is private, we won't see your tag! Take a screenshot of your story/post and DM it directly to @MBU_Wellness.

Method C: Email (No Instagram)

Email a clear photo or scan of your card to Cmflory@marybaldwin.edu. Use the subject line: Wellness Bingo Submission - [Your Name].

6. Code of Conduct

This challenge operates on the MBU honor system.

Any participant found to be falsifying task completion will be disqualified from prize eligibility.

The conference will explore how autism, trauma, and social determinants of health influence neurobiology. The program will also include a discussion of career opportunities in mental health and an afternoon pharmaceutical fair featuring additional presentations on neurobiological topics.

This conference is open to anyone with an interest in neurobiology, mental health, or related careers. Students, healthcare professionals, educators, and community members are encouraged to attend. Up to 3.5 nursing contact hours are available.

A member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, Stephen Key is one of the most sought-after oboists of his generation. Currently Principal Oboe for the New Orchestra of Washington, he has also performed with the National Symphony, the Richmond Symphony, and the New World Symphony. He is also a prolific composer. This concert will feature one of his original works, along with other exciting selections for oboe and piano.

Hailed by the Washington Post as “A pianist’s pianist,” Ryo Yanagitani's success includes winning the Gold Medal at San Antonio International Piano Competition, and he was also the Grant Prize Winner of the Hugo Kauder International Piano Competition.

The concert is Monday, October 26 at 7:30 p.m. in Francis Auditorium. Don’t miss this exciting event!

All Broman Concerts and Sunday Recitals are open to the public. We welcome members of the community!

This concert features MBU faculty member Greg Moody, saxophone; Bob Russell, guitar; Bob Bowen, bass; and Jim Howe, drums.

The quartet performs jazz standards, original compositions, and new arrangements of familiar popular songs. Grounded firmly in jazz, the group also explores funk, Afro-Cuban and Brazilian rhythms in a jazz context.

The concert is Sunday, November 8 at 3 pm in Francis Auditorium. This will be a fun afternoon for everyone! Bring your family and friends.

All Sunday Recitals and Broman Concerts are open to the public. We welcome members of the community!

Prizewinner of international piano competitions and a Bösendorfer Concert Artist, pianist Ivo Kaltchev has enjoyed a successful performing career as recitalist, soloist with orchestras, chamber musician, and recording artist. He has performed in many of the major concert halls around the world, including in Austria, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Czech Republic, France, Bulgaria, Italy, Portugal, Finland, Ukraine, Korea, China, Singapore, Thailand, Canada and the U.S.

The concert is Sunday, January 31 at 3 pm in Francis Auditorium.

All Sunday Recitals and Broman Concerts are open to the public. We welcome members of the community!

Brazilian violinist Nathan Amaral was the first prize winner of the 2024 Sphinx, Concert Artist Guild, and Young Classical Artists Trust competitions. Nathan has earned a reputation for being "... one of the rare musicians who not only possesses the gift of ample technical ability but uses it to transcend technique, getting to the heart and soul of musical expression… ” — Yo-Yo Ma.

Nominated as a Classic FM ‘Rising Star’ in 2024, Nathan recently performed to a sold-out audience at Royal Albert Hall as soloist with the Philharmonia Orchestra through Classic FM Live. Additionally, he has performed with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, Brevard Music Festival Orchestra, Royal College of Music Symphony at the Aldeburgh Festival, Brazilian Symphony Orchestra, and with the Chineke! Orchestra.

The concert is Monday, February 15 at 7:30 p.m. in Francis Auditorium. Don’t miss this exciting event!

The Piedmont Duo features Ayn Balija, viola, and I-Jen Fang, marimba. They will present a Concert of Female Composers for the audience at Mary Baldwin.

Balija and Fang are both on the faculty at the University of Virginia. They have toured, performed and given masterclasses in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina as well as at the International Viola Congresses in Brazil and France.

The concert is Sunday, April 18 at 3 pm in Francis Auditorium.
